A Bit About Me
I was born and raised in Macomb, Illinois, worked at Western Illinois University for 32 years in Student Activities and Campus Recreation, retired in 2005 and then worked part time for 14 years at the Harry Mussatto Golf Course on the maintenance staff. During retirement I served as a volunteer coach and then head coach for the Macomb High School Boys Golf Team and Marshaled at some professional golf tournaments.

A Legacy Theatre Board member (Barb Bailey) knew of my experience with concerts and entertainment at Western and invited me to serve on the performance recruitment committee. I'm a big fan of live music! I have been a volunteer for 5 years.
The reason I volunteer at The Legacy is because I have the time, I believe in the mission of the Legacy Theatre and I enjoy working with all the great people at the Theatre who make that mission come alive for this community. I also love to see the smiles and enjoyment on our patrons' faces as they exit the Theatre after one of our outstanding performances.

There have been lots of GREAT shows but by far the most memorable one was Steve Leslie's tribute show to the great James Taylor! About 40 minutes into the show a storm rolled through Carthage and shut down our power. With the resourcefulness of many people, Steve and his backup singer Kyle proceeded to finish the concert acoustically for another hour. It was a very special night for all in attendance.

If you are considering being part of the Legacy, I can tell you that volunteering is fun. You will get to work with great people who are committed to serving our community and you will see some fantastic entertainment!! It gives me something to look forward to and I enjoy being engaged and surrounded by great people who are giving back to our community.
Waiting in the wings...
