I am a husband of 22 years to my amazing wife Amanda.  We have 3 kids, one in college, one in high school, and one going into middle school this year (6th grade). In addition to being the IT guy at Illini West High School, I am also a part time Youth Pastor at River of Life Fellowship in Dallas City, and a Dallas City Summer Ball volunteer.
 

I have been volunteering at The Legacy for at least five years, but I remember doing some consultation work even before that. I started volunteering at the theater because community is vital and The Legacy helps bring communities together. It's a natural fit to help foster community. I continue to volunteer for the same reason. I feel that if I am given a gift, then the idea is to share the gift...technology is my gifting.
 

Through the years, I have enjoyed seeing the technology (sound, lights, network) at Legacy starting to really become something that is high class, especially for our little area.  It allows for more possibilities which is always a good thing. So much happens behind the scenes at Legacy that audiences might not know about. Everything in fact. The lights, the cameras, the cables, the wiring, the microphones, the rigging, the tables and chairs, the food, the drinks, the logistics, the ticketing, the cleaning...and thats not even counting the full performance!

What I enjoy most about volunteering at the theater is the networking and community.  Opportunities happen in the confluence of community, creating opportunities to network and gain valuable resources. If anyone is considering volunteering at the theater, I would tell them it is a window to the world of Hancock County.  You will meet great people, engage in great productions, and enjoy the show! Volunteering at the theater has impacted me personally in giving me the chance to make connections with other community minded individuals. Volunteering makes a huge difference at The Legacy Theater by giving the community a chance to see outside of their own smaller world.  See the World!
