I've lived in Hancock County my entire life and in Carthage since 1993.  My husband and I have been married for 28 years.  We have three children who are grown.  We just had our first grandchild this year!  I like to play my saxophone in community bands and have taken up golfing in a women's league.  I also volunteer in several other organizations and my church, and that keeps me busy.

 

I have volunteered at The Legacy Theater for so long, I am unsure of exactly when I started! I was inspired to get involved at The Legacy by all the people who helped clean and repair the theater and put together the performance of "The Christmas Wish". I continue to volunteer because ushering is a great way to meet new people and see old friends who attend the shows. I enjoy keeping busy, and it makes me feel good to help my community.

Although all the shows at Legacy are all incredible, my favorite memories are of those seeing my kids perform onstage. One of my favorite behind-the-scenes memory of volunteering at the Legacy was when popcorn was served - a leaf blower worked really well at cleaning the theater floor afterwards!

If you are considering volunteering at the theater, you will really enjoy it; just be friendly and helpful. It's a great way to help while also enjoying a show! Volunteering makes a difference because, 'It takes a village...."  If everyone pitches in and helps, then all the work doesn't fall on just a few.
